On the 16th of February 2024, the Chemistry Department of Sahya Arts and Science College organized a Solid Waste Management Awareness Program in the vicinity of Palamadam. The aim of the program was to educate the community on the importance of proper waste management practices and encourage responsible waste disposal habits. Students from the Chemistry Department visited nearby houses in Palamadam to conduct awareness classes on solid waste management. They engaged with residents, discussing the significance of segregating waste, recycling, and reducing waste generation. Alongside the awareness sessions, notices were circulated in the locality to emphasize key points regarding solid waste management. These notices served as reminders and provided practical tips for residents to implement sustainable waste management practices in their daily lives. This program Increased awareness among residents regarding the importance of proper waste management. Total 13 students participated in the Program.
