Internal Quality Assurance Cell
About the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Sahya Arts and Science College
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore,
proposed that every accredited institution establish an Internal Quality
Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure in
accordance with the NAAC's National Action Plan for performance evaluation,
assessment, accreditation, and quality up-gradation of institutions of
higher education. Because quality improvement is a never-ending activity,
the IQAC will become a part of an institution's system and work to achieve
quality improvement and maintenance goals. The IQAC's main goal is to create
a mechanism for improving institutional performance in a conscious,
consistent, and catalytic way. In the post-accreditation phase of
institutions, the IQAC will make a major and important contribution. The
IQAC, SASC will focus on developing an institution-wide synergy that
incorporates the constituent efforts and feedback of stakeholders such as
teaching and non-teaching staff, students, alumni, parents, and others to
generate quality sustenance and enhancement on the following areas as
defined by NAAC:

⇾ Research, Extension, and Consultancy
⇾ Infrastructure
⇾ Student Support and Services
⇾ Governance and Management
⇾ Innovation and Promotion of Best Practices
Vision
At the institutional level, to develop and maintain a quality culture aiming at all-around excellence.

To guide and systematize an institution's efforts and measures toward academic achievement.
Objectives
⇾ To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic
action to
improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
⇾ To promote measures for institutional functioning towards
quality
enhancement and sustenance through internalization of quality culture and
institutionalization of best practices.
⇾ To attain the vision of the institute through executing,
channelizing the
strategic plan.
Functions
⇾ Quality benchmarks/parameters for the College's numerous
academic and
administrative activities are being developed and implemented.
⇾ Facilitating the development of a learner-centered environment
favorable to
high-quality education and faculty maturation in order to adopt the
necessary
knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning.
⇾ Organize for students, parents, and other stakeholders to
provide input on
quality-related institutional processes.
⇾ Information on the many quality characteristics of higher
education is
disseminated.
⇾ Inter- and intra-institutional workshops, seminars on
quality-related topics,
and the promotion of quality circles are also planned.
⇾ Documentation of the College's numerous programs/activities,
with the goal of
improving quality.
⇾ The College's Quality Culture is being developed.
