On March 19, 2024, Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Club in association with IQAC had conducted an industrial visit. A group of 39 students and 2 accompanying staff from Sahya Arts and Science College embarked on an industrial visit to the Institute of Gems and Jewellery, located in Inkel Edu City, Malappuram.
Upon arrival at the Institute of Gems and Jewellery, the students were warmly welcomed by the staff and faculty members. The visit commenced with a comprehensive presentation on the history and significance of gemstones in various cultures. Subsequently, the students were taken on a guided tour of the institute's state-of-the-art facilities, including gemstone cutting and polishing workshops, jewellery design studios, and quality control laboratories. During the tour, the students had the opportunity to witness firsthand the intricate processes involved in transforming rough gemstones into exquisite jewellery pieces.
The industrial visit to the Institute of Gems and Jewellery proved to be an enriching and insightful experience for the students. It provided them with valuable exposure to the practical aspects of gemstone processing and jewellery manufacturing, as well as valuable insights into the diverse career opportunities available in the industry.
