The Department of Economics, organized a debate on “Impact of GST Cut on Indian Economy: A Boost to the Goods Market” on Friday, 23rd January 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Seminar Hall.

The programme aimed to enhance students’ understanding of Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms and their implications for the Indian economy, particularly the goods market. Students actively participated in the debate, presenting arguments both in favour of and against GST cuts. The discussion covered key areas such as price reduction, consumer demand, business growth, government revenue, and market efficiency.
