On February 15, 2024, the Department of English, conducted a Literary Fest Kalopsia, and served a documentary screening titled Nouka in the seminar hall at 10:00 am. The welcome address was given by Muhammed Shahin KC, HOD of the English Department. The program was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Abdul Rabbi Nistar and the Chief guest was Ashraf Dhosth, an International Social and Charity worker. Abdulla Kutty, Director of SASC, and Abinav, chairman felicitated over the function. The documentary led by 54 students and coordinated by Anitha the Coordinator of Media Club, the documentary aimed to illuminate the challenging conditions faced by fishermen in Beypore Harbour. Through firsthand experiences and conversations with the fishermen, the documentary highlighted their struggles in accessing government benefits and support. It showcased the resilience of the fishing community, emphasizing their significant contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The screening served as a powerful platform to raise awareness about the fishermen's plight and advocate for increased assistance from governmental and societal entities Overall, the event was a meaningful endeavor that showed empathy and understanding towards the struggles of the fishermen in Beypore Harbour, 62 students participated and experienced the documentary screening Muhammed Rafi, the student of 54 English given the vote of thanks.
