The SIP Unit of Sahya Arts and Science College, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an Orientation Programme for SIP Students on Friday, 09 January 2026, at 10:00 AM in the College Auditorium.
The programme was conducted with the objective of orienting students towards the aims and activities of Students Initiative in Palliative, emphasizing compassion, social responsibility, and mental well-being while engaging in palliative care services. The session aimed to prepare students emotionally and psychologically to serve individuals and families in need with empathy and resilience.
The programme was led by the distinguished resource person, Mr. Noushad Pulikkal, a Mental Health Trainer and CG & AC State Faculty. During his session, he highlighted the importance of mental health, emotional intelligence, stress management, and self-care, especially for students involved in palliative and community-based services. His talk provided valuable insights into maintaining emotional balance while offering care and support to others.
The session was interactive and inspiring, encouraging students to reflect on their responsibilities as SIP volunteers. The participants actively engaged in the discussion and gained a deeper understanding of the emotional aspects involved in palliative care work.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person, IQAC, SIP coordinators, and organizing committee for the successful conduct of the orientation programme. Overall, the programme was highly beneficial and strengthened the commitment of students towards compassionate service through SIP.
