Community Extension program at Ashraya Special School

The PG Department of Psychology, organized a Community Extension Programme on Wednesday, 14th January 2026 at 10:00 AM at Ashraya Special School, Kuttiyil, Wandoor (Malappuram), Kerala.


The PG Department of Psychology, in association with IQAC, organized a Community Extension Activity at Ashraya Special School, Kuttiyil, on 14 January 2026 at 10:00 AM, as part of the academic syllabus. The programme aimed to promote experiential learning, social responsibility, and meaningful community engagement among students.
The programme commenced with a prayer by the students of Ashraya Special School. The event was inaugurated by Safvana S., Head of the PG Department of Psychology, who highlighted the significance of community-based academic activities in psychology education. The residential address was delivered by Sivajith T., Assistant Professor, PG Department of Psychology, who spoke about the importance of empathy, communication, and practical exposure in professional development.
The programme included a variety of interactive and skill-oriented activities such as Problem Solving, Creative Thinking, Communication, and Team Building, facilitated by MSc Psychology students. The sessions were designed to encourage participation, enhance cognitive engagement, and promote social interaction among the students of Ashraya Special School.
Cultural programmes were conducted to foster enjoyment and inclusivity. The programme concluded with gift distribution and sweet distribution, creating a positive and cheerful environment for the participants.
Outcomes of the Programme

* Improved student facilitators’ practical skills, communication abilities, and confidence.
